WeatherPanel
This is an app I'm impressed with. So far, it is the only one I know of which supports alphablending in weather icons. Of course, I had to convert the great Stardock weather icon set for it:

Well, it isn't cruicial for day-to-day life. I think it adds something to the today screen - the icons are pretty. If you want to see what the weather is going to be for a week and read forecasts you would want it - but if you don't care one way or the other about weather then don't bother.
This one doesn't do anything except weather, no news or stocks or rss feeds, but it does it very well + it is small.
WeatherPanel is mostly eye-candy, really. (Like, if you're *really* serious about the weather you'd probably get paged with warnings or check weather.com wirelessly.) But I really love it.
